Duranta

This is a nice shrub or tree which can grow to 18 feet under optimal conditions. Its branches are sometimes spiny, often drooping or trailing; leaves ovate to obovate, to 4 inches long, entire or coarsely toothed above the middle; flowers lilac, to 1/2 inch across; fruit yellow, to 1/2 inch across. The berries are poisonous, so watch out if you have small children. The birds, however, will love to munch on them.
