Sargent Beach Roads
Back Forward

Sargent Beach Roads
Directions: Take Highway 457 South from Bay City, going through Cedar Lane and Sargent and continue toward the beach. After you go over the pontoon bridge at Intracoastal Canal, turn right on the first road - you will be able to see picnic areas down the road. Go down this road to a paved parking area with a picnic pavilion on the right. This is a nice area to fish in Intracoastal Canal. On the left on this road are numerous covered picnic areas with access to the beach. If you have 4-wheel drive you can continue on the beach until you come to the new cut. This is excellent fishing! If you turn left off the main road instead of right, there are some picnic areas on this road, too. This road will run parallel to the beach for many miles. There is access to the beach and to Intracoastal Canal. This road used to go as far as the cut leading into Cedar Lakes. However, it is sanded in now and you can go all the way to the San Bernard River if you have 4-wheel drive.
Fishing: This area is good for fishing from the bank on Intracoastal Canal or on the beach. You can expect to catch trout, redfish, flounder, whiting, etc. . Good fishing in spots!
Notes: The nearest stores are in Sargent and at the bridge.
