This week's tips:
-----------------
Redfish and trout are being caught in the Green's Bayou area of West Matagorda
Bay. In Oyster Lake on a high tide, drifting with live shrimp or topwater lure
like Top Dogs or Excalibur Super Spooks should produce some redfish.
East Matagorda Bay - drifting over Cleveland Reef with live shrimp or soft plastics looks good. Map - http://www.matagorda-bay.com/maps/cleveland.html - Cleveland Reef is just out from Cleveland Bayou along the south shoreline of East Bay. Chinqapin Reefs look good, too. Map - http://www.matagorda-bay.com/maps/chinquapin.html
If the water temperature keeps coming up, it should be good fishing for redfish on Brown Cedar Flats ( http://www.matagorda-bay.com/maps/brncedarflats.html ) when the wind's out of the south / southeast.
The Diversion Channel might be a good starting point for redfish if it's windy...
Lures - Red eyes on lures imitate a mullet’s eyes and provide a big target. A three dimensional effect radiates when sunlight hits the plastic eyes. Red color can also be mistaken for a wound.
Red eyes provide the biggest contract and flash, especially when coupled with a glow, chartreuse or root beer soft plastic body.
Don't forget - the 27TH Annual Holder Fishing Show is going to be at George R. Brown Convention Center starting February 26 thru March 3, 2002!
Hope this helps ya'll!
Have a good time fishing and I'll see you next week,
Webmaster
